Provide Supervision for the effective use of maintenance personnel, materials and machine downtime to maintain production equipment availability and performance at satisfactory levels through the planning, scheduling, coordinating and reporting of repair activities.

Under direct supervision of the Facility Manager, repair and maintain all plant electrical circuits and mechanical equipment to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency. Operates mechanical equipment as directed. Works varied shifts and/or day, as directed. Manage a crew of mechanics, electricians and other related maintenance personnel.

Position Responsibilities - Placing the up-most importance on working safely and maintaining a safe & orderly work environment for self and others at all times:

  • Directs and leads all the maintenance activities of all mechanics to effectively maintain plant equipment including mobile units.

  • Manages and directs the activities of all electricians to effectively maintain plant equipment and all electrical components.

  • Responsible for plant safety compliance, including air pollution, health department regulations and OSHA requirements.

  • Communicates company policies to employees, develops, trains and enforces safety regulations.

  • Inspects, monitors and controls the quality of workmanship and completed tasks to ensure it meets company standards.

  • To implement, maintain and upgrade (as needed) the plant preventive maintenance program which includes mobile equipment maintenance program.

  • Assists and develops maintenance staffing as needed and directed.

  • To be fully proficient with all machinery in order to assist maintenance workers and/or train as needed.

  • Strong working knowledge of all facets of electrical controls and procedures.

  • Responsible for administration of discipline and attendance policies per WestRock’s policies.

  • Assures, monitor and maintain equipment spare parts, organize and control all maintenance inventories.

  • Proficient knowledge and understanding of all quality assurance procedures and requirements.

  • Leads and facilitates the development and implementation of continuous improvement processes that improve equipment and employees’ performance.

  • Implement changes in working condition to improve the effectiveness of efficiency.

  • Responsible for maintenance department housekeeping in all work areas through proper scheduling and direction of those activities.

  • Demonstrates good communication skills that will enhance employee development and promote good relations.

  • All other assigned duties by Facility Manager.

    JOB-RELATED QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

    Education

    Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

    Knowledge/Skills

  • Computer literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and CAD required, SAP enterprise software, desired.

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

  • Previous management and supervisory experience required.

  • Ability to implement changes.

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and organization skills.

  • Able to maintain a Preventive Maintenance Program, inventory and related budget experience as well as cost justifications on modifications and improvements

  • Safely operates various shop related equipment.

  • Lay out construct additional electrical circuits or deleted circuits. Update any changes to electrical schematics.

  • Perform repairs and adjustments on PLC electrical systems.

  • Diagnosis electrical problems using various meters and related equipment.

  • Read and understand electrical schematics and blue prints.

  • Working knowledge of three phase motors and control circuits.

  • OSHA safety requirements.
