This position will be responsible for facility and equipment maintenance at the Florence Mill.
How you will impact WestRock:
Administers and model’s safety in his/her area of responsibility; Participates in and supports the safety programs for the maintenance department; reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance employees. Ensures compliance with all applicable OSHA and plant safety rules.
Ensures compliance with all environmental rules and rules and policies
Responds to calls 24 hrs./day; is a team member on a rotating weekend/holiday basis and is on call support for maintenance
Ensure efficient utilization of mill manpower and contractors.
Sets expectations and provides direction using SMART goals (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, timely)
Is primarily responsible for facility and grounds maintenance including the mill fire system
Develop and manage effective facility maintenance reliability programs
Possess critical thinking skills and maintain an enthusiastic and positive approach toward employees and the job function
Utilizes the J.D. Edwards CMMS as a primary tool of the mill maintenance process
What you need to succeed:
High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Five to ten (5-10) years of industrial experience preferred.
Supervisory or management experience preferred. Paper industry a plus.
Safety – Exhibits strong competencies in Safety Mindset and has a thorough understanding of safety policies and procedures.

Develops a team spirit and uses tact when expressing ideas or opinions. Presents new ideas to authority figures and adapts presentations to suit a particular audience. Integrity – Able to be tactful, maintain confidences, and foster an ethical work environment. Prevents inappropriate behavior by coworkers, give proper credit to others and handles all situations honestly.
