The opportunity:

We are seeking a Regional Safety and Environmental Coordinator to manage the North and West Regions of our Recycle Division.  The Regional Safety and Environmental Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and education of safe practices, ultimately achieving full compliance with local, state, federal and company regulations, in the assigned region.  Depending on location, this is a possible work from home opportunity.

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

 

Develop and implement a Safety Action plan for the assigned region while assisting local facilities in the development of local action plans to achieve a total team commitment to the WestRock Safety process and safety culture

 

Assist in training region employees in safe work practices as well as OSHA related topics

 

Provide local facility management with the tools and resources necessary to achieve goals while maintaining contact with local safety committees by attending local meetings and providing support

 

Conduct and measure facility inspections and audits to achieve continuous improvement while providing measurable feedback to regional leadership

 

Provide support to incident investigations to ensure proper root cause identification, corrective action, and lessons learned communication

 

Develop a relationship with the Division Safety Manager to ensure alignment with WestRock Safety & Health objectives

 

Prepare and submit reports to region leadership as required

 

Perform additional duties as assigned

 

 

What you need to succeed:

 

3+ years Safety and Environmental experience in a manufacturing setting

 

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health preferred
