Early Career Development: Finance Rotation Program

Finance Rotation Analyst, Summer 2018 - Norcross, GA

Career Opportunity:

The goal of the Finance Rotation Program is to develop future WestRock finance leaders. The program is two years in duration, with four 6-month rotational assignments. Participants will be placed into a permanent full-time role following the rotation, based on performance, career interest, and business needs. Core rotations include Corporate Finance and Business Unit Finance and will be complemented by potential rotations in Corporate Accounting, Treasury and Procurement Analytics. What you need to succeed:

  • BS degree in finance / accounting / economics / information management / business / math
  • Minimum GPA: 3.2
  • Strong capabilities with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and potential
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills (comfortable working with all levels within the company)
  • Ability or demonstrated potential to solve multi-dimensional problems and make clear & concise recommendations

How you will impact WestRock:

Example work assignments include:

  • Prepare and analyze standard monthly and quarterly financial reporting
  • Support consolidation of quarterly forecasting and identify opportunities for process improvement and standardization
  • Prepare and analyze data focused on mill and plant profitability, customer profitability, region profitability, etc.
  • Create discounted cash flow analyses to support investments in capital expenditures and other strategic investments
  • Help drive process improvements and standardization to drive consistency in financial practices across the organization
  • Optimize and rationalize reporting and enhance reporting databases
  • Support mill and plant-based variance analyses focused on sales, cost, freight expenses and other material variances
  • Add value - Identify cost savings and/or cost reduction opportunities in business process, operations and/or production
  • Financial modeling and return analysis for strategic projects
