Security Operations Analyst - Norcross, GA

The opportunity:

  • The Security Operations Analyst will operate and monitor a variety of WestRock security
    solutions to get the most value out of these solutions. 
  • Results from these solutions will be used as input to help drive cyber threat management activities.
  • This person will interact with outsourced security providers and the WestRock information technology teams. 

How will you impact WestRock:

  • Implement, operate and work to continual improve value from technical security solutions.
  • Participate in the monitoring of security threats and risks alerting from WestRock security solutions.
  • Assist with incident response events and investigations.
  • Monitor security alerts and events.
  • Participate in the development of tactical solutions to handle security incidents.
  • Ensure security threat response procedures are being executed by the appropriate technical teams.
  • Participate in the implementation of security educational programs.
  • Collect metrics and prepare technical reports for executive management.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • At least 3 years of security-related IT experience with at least 2 years working with, operating and implementing security tools (including any of the following but not limited to): network administration, network security, server administration, system security, endpoint security, vulnerability, patch management, Microsoft Active Directory and programming.
  • Background in related field of study (including any of the following but not limited to): Information Systems, Network Engineering or Information Security.
  • Certifications in related field are a plus (including any of the following but not limited to): Security+, Network+, CISSP, CCNA Security, CCIE, MCSE, MCITP, SANS GICSP, CISM, FireEye Certifications.
  • Must be a self-starter, capable of working with minimal direction.
  • Exposure to a SIEM platforms is helpful (e.g. ArcSight, Splunk, Nitro/McAfee Enterprise Security Manager, TAP, QRadar, LogLogic).
  • Experience with malware analysis concepts and methods is a plus.
  • Experience with ServiceNow module implementations is valuable.
  • Demonstrate problem solving, communications, critical thinking and logical structuring skills.
