Application Security Analyst - Norcross, GA

The opportunity:

  • The Application Security Analyst will perform the activities necessary to ensure effective delivery of application security services across the WestRock enterprise. 
  • This person will interact with outsourced security providers and the WestRock information technology teams. 

How will you impact WestRock:

  • Take a lead role in the development and implementation of application vulnerability testing and penetration testing, including strategy, processes and procedures.
  • Conducts technical security assessments of applications and infrastructure.
  • Assist with application security design and application risk assessments.
  • Coordinate with IT staff members to remediate the findings of application testing.
  • Provide guidance to application developers during application remediation implementation.
  • Supports project teams, application owners, and general technology teams on relevant security controls and secure SDLC process requirements.
  • Participate in security architecture reviews and exception approval processes.
  • Collect metrics and prepare technical reports for executive management.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • At least 5 years of security-related IT experience with at least 3 years working with, operating and implementing security tools (including any of the following but not limited to): programming, application security, web application penetration testing, endpoint security and application vulnerability management.
  • Must be familiar with application testing tools such as App Spider from Rapid 7 or AppScaner from Trustwave.
  • Technical skills from the hardware to the application layer.
  • A background in development of several web application development languages is a plus.
  • Background in related field of study (including any of the following but not limited to): Information Systems, Software Engineering or Information Security.
  • Certifications in related field is a plus (including any of the following but not limited to): CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, or CPTC Certified Penetration Testing Consultant Certifications.
  • Must be a self-starter, capable of working with minimal direction.
  • Demonstrate communications, problem solving, critical thinking and logical structuring skills.
