Senior Manager, Digital Transformation - Sandy Springs, GA

The opportunity:

  • The Manager will develop and lead the implementation of WestRock’s digital transformation strategy.
  • Drive and execute the digital transformation roadmap including cloud services to support an integrated enterprise platform and underlying products for increased business agility. 
  • Responsible for leading sustainable projects and solutions to deliver on the outlined transformation imperatives and capabilities.   

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Support the definition, development and execution of the digital transformation strategy.
  • Lead all aspects of transformation management, including vision, defining key performance indicators/outcomes, research, requirements, specifications and documentation.
  • Work with various IT Teams to understand the current systems landscape and challenges, identify business improvement opportunities, develop a clear end–state for the IT portfolio and create a road map for achieving preferred goals. 
  • Monitor program progress, eliminate barriers, and ensure effective governance to modernize the IT systems and services portfolio.
  • Integrate user research and collaborate with technical teams to drive overall solution design.
  • Collaborate with Communications Program Lead to drive organizational updates or program orientation, progress and client feedback.
  • Contribute to the process required to identify and evaluate internal digital assets and strengths that can be complimented and scaled by partners.
  • Support day-to-day transformation needs and lead issue investigation and resolution.
  • Act as a thought leader on emerging digital technologies, articulating to internal audiences the WestRock digital future.
  • Develop and implement process improvements, enforcement of adherence to standards across the organization and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technology or equivalent experience. MBA is a plus.
  • 8+ years IT work experience in cloud systems, program management and project management.  
  • Experience with IT digital transformation strategy development and disruptions to drive overall business growth and digital products is required/preferred.
  • Demonstrated work experience with ITIL and Agile methodologies is required.
  • Direct work experience with systems implementation and optimization, operational process reviews and technology assessments and creating technology road maps.
  • Ability to bridge the gap with peer IT business teams effectively and anticipate and address stakeholder concerns and issues. 
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal team, user groups and key stakeholders.
  • Ability to facilitate work across various technical and functional project teams at all levels of the organization. 
  • Advanced MS Office skills,
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects with interrelated teams and technology issues simultaneously within aggressive timelines.
  • Proven program management skills within technology and business environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Versatile communications skills with the ability to communicate technical issues and/or concepts to technical and non-technical people.
  • Proven leadership skills that include being part of a high performing team.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global environment with remote teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in: complex systems environments, operating systems and server hardware, vendor negotiations, budget planning and management.
