Profitability Data Strategy Manager - Sandy Springs, GA 

The opportunity:
The Technology Transformation organization is seeking a Manager of Profitability Data Strategy to own and drive key activities in support of a unified reporting architecture road map.  This highly visible role will own relationships with key business and functional leaders across the Consumer and Corrugated Segments as well as within IT.  The Manager will:

  • Be a strategic partner to groups engaged in profitability analysis, including corporate and segment FP&A, pricing and enterprise sales teams.
  • Lead a team of Analysts in requirements gathering, systems documentation and data analysis activity to translate data from consumers’ needs into actionable application requirements.  Develop a functional understanding of the current data landscape in support of this work.  These efforts will lay the foundation for enterprise analytics and advanced data application at WestRock.
  • Aggregate business needs to inform how we leverage, cleanse and govern sales and cost data consistently across our global landscape. 
    This will enable business users to make objective, fact-based decisions that help WestRock win in the market.
  • Be a thought leader that excels at broad organizational navigation, stakeholder engagement and process excellence as we harmonize varied approaches to common reporting needs.

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Drive long term value with an ‘economies of scale’ approach to reporting solutions across the
    enterprise.
  • Actualize continual simplification over our reporting landscape.  Foster a structured approach to problem solving that drives towards a refined, standard "playbook" approach to sales and profitability reporting enablement across disparate systems, divisions and
    stakeholder bases.
  • Spearhead process standardization for data management as we stand up a "single source of the truth" over the long term.  Proactively and
    continuously identify areas for process improvement and greater efficiency.

What you need to succeed

  • Bachelor's in a quantitative business discipline with demonstrated interest in Information Systems/Computer Science/Industrial Engineering.  MBA or Master's strongly preferred.
  • Management consulting experience, especially with financial/accounting data analysis content.  Big 4 strongly preferred.
  • People management experience in a Fortune 500-type environment.
  • Confident with MS Excel; very comfortable with vlookup’s, pivot tables, formulas, etc.
  • Experience with reporting tools such as JD Edwards, Hyperion Essbase, DAS, Cognos, AS400, etc.
  • Demonstrated business acumen; paper and packaging industry experience a significant plus.
  • Project management, Agile, process/workflow documentation a significant plus. 
  • Demonstrated logical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to turn complex scenarios into practical, achievable, step-by-step processes that may involve multiple stakeholders.
  • Fact-based communicator with a strong customer service attitude.  Comfortable interacting with and presenting to both technical and non-technical groups across various levels of the organization.
  • Results driven self-starter who brings an entrepreneurial approach to driving long term value.
