To our plant in Newcastle, we are currently looking for an experienced

HR Advisor

How You Will Impact WestRock MPS:

  • Provide advice to line managers on generalist HR issues on the entire employee life cycle including, but not limited to, job design, recruitment & selection, learning and development, performance and absence management, reward and benefits, employee engagement, employee relations and employee leaving processes  for the Newcastle site
  • Support the site with change management programmes and continuous improvement activities
  • Maintain knowledge of employment legislation and best practice and adapt accordingly
  • Supporting Department Managers through the recruitment and selection process
  • Developing and delivering induction programmes for new starters
  • Ensuring the implementation of the performance management process
  • Co-ordinate learning & development activities
  • Support the development and implementation of Entry Level Programmes such as Apprenticeships and Graduate Development
  • Facilitating Employee Engagement Improvement Groups
  • Co-ordinate the talent management & succession planning programme
  • Review current HR processes and develop proposals to streamline and improve efficiency
  • Policy writing and updating
  • Provide an effective HR administration service ensuring that employee data/information is handled, stored, recorded, processed and retrieved in a professional, confidential, accurate and timely manner, in accordance with data protection
  • Deputise for HR Manager as and when required

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor degree in HR
  • CIPD qualified or working towards
  • Good knowledge of UK/European Employment Law
  • Experience of working in an HR department
  • A high level of customer focus
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrable interpersonal  and communication skills
  • Ability to challenge and debate issues in a constructive manner
  • Ability to support empowered employees in a team environment
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Able to demonstrate continuous improvement in a previous role
  • Ability to look at situations from several points of view and demonstrate empathy
  • Persuasive with details and facts
  • Delivers multiple activities consistently to high standard
  • Ability to reduces complexity through simple, clear plans
