Collections Team Lead

How You Will Impact WestRock MPS:

  • Ensure all past dues accounts are collected in line with corporate policy
  • Own the collection process
  • Provide direction and assistance to other organisational plants regarding accounts receivables policies and procedures
  • Manages the team
  • Ensures that regular on-going communication occurs with employees to create awareness of business objectives, communicate expectations, and recognize performance
  • Participates in the employee performance appraisal process, providing feedback as needed
  • Create and maintain department documentation
  • Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
  • Point of escalation for Collection team
  • Ensure smooth running of collections function
  • Partner with the AR team and wider business to ensure error-free and in a timely manner
  • Interact and support 3rd party service provider
  • Ensure the accuracy of all charges and credits to the various accounts
  • Follow up on all overdue accounts as required
  • Review and manage all account queries and disputes
  • Provide cover and support to collections as required
  • Any other responsibilities as directed by European Shared Service Manager

What you need to succeed:

  • Min. 2 years of experience in managing collections functions
  • Experience in B2B Collections environment
  • Strong communication skills and experience in interacting with both external customers and internal divisions
  • Be able to proactively build relationships with customers and departments
  • Must be very organized and systematic in approach to work
  • Advanced MS Excel, Word and Power point
  • Must have good time management skills and be able to meet strict deadlines
  • ICM  level 4 or above desirable but not essential (if qualified by experience)
  • Willing to travel as required
