AP Accountant with German

Currently in our office in Kraków Zabierzów (Kraków Business Park), we are looking for an experienced  
AP Accountant m/f

Position Highlight: This role includes holding responsibility for end to end process, incoming invoice register, performing formal invoice checks, cost coding, query resolution, follow ups with various WestRock Departments (Purchasing, Finance, HR, other) following US GAAP and local regulations, payment proposal.

How You Will Impact WestRock

  • Own of the End-To-End Payables process including formal invoice check, cost coding, 3- way match, query resolution, invoice posting and payment proposal
  • Prepare month end accruals, hold responsibility for timely AP subledgers close
  • Identify and work with vendors and local teams to resolve any queries
  • Validate compliance of Travel & Entertainment expenses with corporate policy and local regulations
  • Operate in line with US GAAP and local regulations
  • Participate in projects to support the implementation of new business developments
  • Support local finance team on ad-hoc projects
  • Introduce and implement best practices in Procure to Pay area

What You Need To Succeed

  • Proven Experience within AP processes- minimum 2 years
  • Higher education – preferably in Accounting/Finance
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel and Workflow tools
  • Fluent English 
  • Ability to cooperate with and support colleagues in Krakow as well as from local finance teams in Europe and in the US
  • Action oriented and dedicated to meet the expectation and requirements of internal and external customers
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Good analytical problem solving skills 
  • Working knowledge of JDE would be an asset
