The Florence Mill is seeking an Project Accountant who will be an integral part of the Financial Team. The Project Accountant will be responsible for project and general accounting for $400+ million capital project that is ongoing at the facility.
How you will impact WestRock:
Provide monthly Job Cost Report analysis and reconciliation in coordination with the project manager for timely financial reporting
Produce and analyze reports which compare actual spending and cash flow versus budget for each project on a as needed basis
Manage the construction Accounts Payables process: documenting vouchers for review and approval, code invoices, scan invoices, approve invoices, upload invoices into project tracking system, vendor maintenance, resolve invoice discrepancies, and process AP Transfers
Ensure that projects are billed in accordance with contracts and revenue recognized in accordance with company policies and tax requirements
Fixed asset accounting and MRO write-offs
Reconcile project costs, billings, and advances to general ledger on as needed basis
Act as a project liaison between project managers, accounting, and mill management
Respond to queries by project personnel on all financial aspects of the projects
Document accounting procedures and controls as needed
Perform other accounting related duties as required
What you need to succeed:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience (2-3 years of project accounting experience
Manufacturing experience preferred
Ability to work with a diverse work group of vendors, executive managers, subcontractors, consultants and other professionals
Strong Analytical, Detail- Oriented and Problem-Solving Skills
Strong Organizational Skills and ability to multitask in a continuously changing environment
Ability to use computerized accounting software to trace transactions
JDE experience preferred
Advanced Excel skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently with discipline and focus in an unstructured environment
