WestRock is seeking a Financial Analyst to be a part of our team that supports the global Packing Systems business. The business is a vital piece of the enterprise solution strategy by building and deploying machines globally.  These machines bring our company’s and customer’s products together for the consumer.


Reporting to the business’ Global Finance Lead, the plant Financial Analyst contributes, partners, and drives finance excellence at the Smyrna, GA plant.  You will play a role in the plant’s high value at stake initiatives.   Also, you will participate on teams to advance the Business and provide analysis support.


How you will impact WestRock

  • Provides analytical support to the plant becoming aware of the drivers of performance thus results

  • Explains the financial performance of the plant versus a baseline (budget, forecast, PY, etc.)

  • Builds, produces, and improves financial reporting

  • Partners with others to improve the financial/accounting process

  • Manages the plant’s financial budgeting and forecasting including uploading to Hyperion

  • Creates and supports reporting for high value at stake initiatives, e.g., productivity and procurement

  • Participates on teams supporting broader initiatives

  • Performs other activities and duties as needed or assigned

  • Becomes a valued partner to the plant

  • Travel (<10%)


    What you need to succeed

  • Degree in finance, accounting, or relatable discipline

  • 2-5 years of experience

  • A self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset

  • Team player able to influence others to achieve a goal or agreed upon outcome

  • Problem solving, quantitative analytical skills and ability to interpret data

  • Skilled with MSOffice tools (particularly Excel) and exposure to SFDC is a positive

  • Ability to work independently and on multiple projects at the time

  • Strong writing and communication skills

  • Detail-oriented approach

  • Energy and desire to grow
